The trend of products containing high protein content reached a high level a few years ago and continues to persist. Interestingly, its principles are evolving. Currently, not only the amount of protein is important, but also its quality and source.

Last year, we observed a significant decrease in new product launches, reflecting shifting consumer attitudes toward vegan products. While the demographic opting for these products continues to expand, they now seek different advantages from them. 

Consumers facing economic instability approach new trends in a very ambivalent manner. On one hand, they express significant interest in novel flavours and aromas.  On the other hand, when in stores, they fear taking risks and automatically reach for familiar and trusted products.

Conversation with Karolina Mikita, Customer Advisor at Libra Food Ingredients. - Why do we add flavours  to meat products? - In times of very diversified assortment on store shelves, the most important differentiator for products, is taste. Nutritional values, clean label  and price are factors that everyone pays attention to. So products in the same price range are generally similar regardless of the manufacturer.

The current reality is pushing an increasing number of consumers to be more frugal with their household budgets. Even those who recently didn't have to pay much attention to food costs are now spending their money more carefully. The choice between quality and price has become a daily occurrence for a significant group of consumers.

Interview with Wojciech Tomczak, Product Manager, Technology Advisor at Libra Food Ingredients - Vegan products are a demanding category of the food industry. A few years ago, it seemed that the meatless segment had such broad prospects that it was endless.

An interview with Agata Kietla, Sales Director – Eastern Market - You have been handling the eastern market for many years. How has the field of cooperation with eastern countries changed over the years? - I have been dealing with sales in eastern markets at Libra Food Ingredients since 2012. Good relations with my Polish customers resulted in recommending me as a salesman and Libra as a proven producer abroad.

In recent years, the demand for plant-based foods has been constantly increasing, so many companies are expanding their portfolio to include such products. All over the world, many start-ups have been founded entering this segment with great hopes for spectacular growth. The truth is that reality is not so bright.

Interview with Gabriel Walesiak, Key Account Manager, Technology Consultant in Libra Food Ingredients company - Apparently, there is an interesting phrase about carrageenans that circulates among meat industry technologists. Can you share it with us? - Haha, you may be thinking of an industry saying from 1996! "It is not an art to cut water. The trick is to sling the water on... the hook." Indeed, it says a lot about the unusual properties of carrageenans, their naturally high water absorption and gel-forming ability.

Spreads, apart from thick dips, are a category that combines nutritional functions with typically entertaining functions for pleasure. They can be used in a different ways - for spreading bread or pancakes, dipping nachos or fresh vegetables, decorating baked potatoes or hard-boiled eggs.

Based on thematic reports and research from Mintel Portal, we can see that European consumers' attitudes towards pork are changing. The current economic situation encourages consumers to choose this type of meat more often.

13 September - very important date for Libra company! That day there was a launch of the new project Libra Food Ingredients - New perspectives. We heard about Libra’s strategic development plans and saw the place in Krusze, where the new Libra plant will appear soon on the vast  field.

Interview with Dariusz Papież, head of the technology and new projects department at Libra Polska. - Sausages are one of the food categories that are very diverse. On the one hand, they have the opinion of meat products of the lowest quality, and on the other hand, they have a huge market share. - It is true that the sausages available on the Polish market vary greatly. Starting from low-end products made mainly of MDM, fat and skin emulsions, to premium products without E- additives with a meat content of 95-100%.

Expo 2020 in Dubai was launched in October 2021. The Polish Pavilion has an area of 2,000 square meters. There is Ogród Smaków Restaurant serving the best of Polish cuisine. We are extremely proud of the fact,  that the bread served at  Ogród Smaków Restaurant is baked daily in the restaurant’s kitchen from Libra's bakery mixes: Gladiator Bread, Bread with Malt and Potato Bread. In addition, the cooks use our functional mixes: Rosołek, Sos grzybowy i Marynata Staropolska.. This is the best recommendation of the quality of our products and a reason for great satisfaction for us!
