Corporate Social Responsibility is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental issues into their business operations. One of the ways to conduct these activities is through international aid, provided by one country to another. This assistance can be given as advice, technology, food or money.
Interfiber #Aid Projects program is our way of helping people globally. Water is our greatest asset, our planet's most precious resource. It is hard to believe that in the 21st century almost 2 billion people have limited access to clean water, and about 1.8 billion people drink dirty water, risking their health and lives. Interfiber, in partnership with the Pallottine Foundation Salvatti, has given thousands of people in Rwanda a chance for a better life.
One of CSR's goals is to help people, so Interfiber funded the construction of a well and cistern for clean water in the Pallottine Center of Hope in Kbilizi, Rwanda. This small village in one of the world's poorest countries, has been struggling with long-term water supply interruptions.
In December 2022, a 10,000-liter cistern was installed to provide constant access to drinking water for the villagers and the local area. Thanks to this new cistern, Kbilizi residents don't have to be concerned about access to fresh, clean water - a source of life.
The #Aid Projects is the first step of the helping program of Interfiber, part of the Food Ingredients Group.
